EIGHT CHARGED WITH TRAFFICKING NARCOTICS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES FROM MEXICO

U.S. Attorney's Office - District of Oregon PORTLAND, Ore.—Eight individuals have been charged for their role in a transnational criminal organization (TCO) transporting narcotics into California from Mexico and distributing it across the United States including Oregon.   The following individuals have been charged by criminal complaint with conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute and possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl: Tania Argueta, 47, residing in Las Vegas, Nevada; Patsy Escobar, 25, residing in Los Angeles, California; Angel Lopez, 25, residing in Los Angeles; Rene Cazares, 39, residing in Salem, Oregon; Julia Dorfler, 32, residing in Springfield, Oregon; Matthew Medieros, 38, residing in Coos Bay, Oregon; Patrick Newport, 28, residing in Corvallis, Oregon; and Felicia Waite, 40, residing in Eugene, Oregon. BURGLAR WHO PREYED ON PORTLAND SMALL BUSINESSES SENT TO PRISON BURGLARY TASK FORCE SOLVED THE CASE

Multnomah Co. District Attorney's Office Portland, OR- Joseph Patrick Doherty, 47-years-old, was sentenced to 40 months prison today after he pleaded guilty to one count of Burglary in the First Degree and six counts of Burglary in the Second Degree on April 3, 2026.   In pleading guilty, Doherty admitted that he targeted and broke into (1) storage units at Public Storage (SW Babur Boulevard), and (2) small businesses in Multnomah Village. Those small businesses include Consign Couture, Little Shop of Drawers, and Merav Beautique.   Multnomah County Deputy District Attorney Alex Garcia - lead of the Burglary Task Force - prosecuted the case for the State. OREGON STATE POLICE SEEKS TIPS AFTER MIGRATORY BIRD EGGS TAKEN IN CLACKAMAS COUNTY

Oregon State Police CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore. (29 April 2026)  – The Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife Division is asking for the public’s help to identify the person of interest in the removal of eggs from a migratory bird nest near Rivervilla Park in Clackamas County last year.   Fish and Wildlife troopers were provided photos of a male subject wearing a blue t-shirt, blue shorts, white athletic shoes, and carrying a backpack. The individual was seen removing eggs from a bird nest located along the railroad trestle near Rivervilla Park in Milwaukie. The incident is believed to have occurred in June 2025; however, it was not reported until March 2026.   Migratory birds are protected by both federal and state laws in the United States. Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) The Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) has conducted another round of targeted enforcement patrols in the City of Roseburg. This enforcement is in response to community and business concerns that were brought to the Douglas County Board of Commissioners (BOC) regarding criminal activity occurring in the community.   As stated in our first targeted patrol press release, DINT continues its primary focus on identifying and investigating high-level drug distributors in Douglas County. The targeted patrols are in addition to our primary objectives and are in coordination with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Roseburg Police Department. Three People Found Deceased From Overdose

Yamhill Co. Sheriff's Office On April 20, 2026, at 4:19 pm., Yamhill Communications Agency (YCOM) received a 911 call reporting multiple overdose victims in the 22000 block of NE Dopp Road in Newberg. Gaston Rural Fire District and deputies from Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. Evidence indicated that all three individuals had been exposed to suspected fentanyl. Investigators from YCSO’s Street Crimes & Narcotics team (SCAN) and Special Investigations Unit (SIU) were requested to assist with the scene and the ongoing investigation.    The victims were identified as: Timothy Dean Crisman, 28, of McMinnville Roberto Refugio Hernandez, 35, of Newberg Virginia Ann Rarick, 56, of Newberg All were pronounced deceased at the scene.    Sheriff Elliott emphasized the seriousness of fentanyl, noting that even a few grains can be fatal, often without the user realizing they are ingesting it. “Drug overdoses continue to be one of the most significant p...

DEPUTIES ARREST SUSPECT IN JASPER HIT-AND-RUN

  Lane Co. Sheriff's Office Just before midnight on April 5th, Lane County Sheriff’s deputies responded with fire personnel to a hit-and-run crash on Jasper Lowell Road at Pengra Road. A motorcycle rider had been struck by a vehicle, which fled the scene. The rider was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. Deputies were able to identify the make and model of the suspect vehicle from debris left on scene. They began searching for a possible match. On April 26th, deputies located a matching vehicle at a residence in the 39000 block of Jasper Lowell Road, Fall Creek. The vehicle was partially hidden under a tarp. After additional investigation, deputies determined the vehicle was involved in the crash. They also identified the driver as John Thomas Klinchok, 60, of Fall Creek. Woman arrested after crash into gas line at Green Hill/Barger

Eugene Police Department  At 4:04 a.m. on April 26, Eugene Police responded to a single-vehicle crash at Green Hill Road and Barger Drive.  A Nissan Murano had crashed into a gas line at the roundabout.  The driver, 37-year-old Ashley Marine Cannaday was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Cannaday was suspected of driving while impaired and after an investigation she was cited in lieu of custody at the hospital for DUII and Reckless Driving. Case 26-06208

Fatal Traffic Crash – SE 3rd St

Corvallis Police   Corvallis, OR – At approximately 3:30 a.m. this morning, officers with the Corvallis Police Department responded to a fatal traffic crash on SE 3rd Street near SE Chapman Place.   A 55-year-old Corvallis resident was struck and killed by a northbound vehicle. The roadway was closed for several hours while investigators processed the scene and is expected to reopen within the hour.   This incident remains under active investigation. No additional details are being released at this time as investigators continue to gather information. Fatal Crash Highway 26 – Clackamas County

Oregon State Police   CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore. (27 April 2026)  – On Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 11:06 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to a single-vehicle fatal crash on Highway 26 near milepost 47 in Clackamas County.   The preliminary investigation indicated a gold Kia Sorento, operated by Daniel Lee La Blue (38) of Brightwood, was traveling westbound on Hwy. 26 near Rhododendron when it crossed over the highway for an unknown reason and struck a tree.   The Kia operator (La Blue), and sole occupant, was pronounced deceased at the scene.   The highway was impacted for approximately one hour during the on-scene investigation.   OSP was assisted by the Hoodland Fire Department, AMR, the Clackamas County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.

FATAL CRASH HIGHWAY 42 – DOUGLAS COUNTY

Oregon State Police DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. (April 27, 2026)  – On Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 10:59 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to a single-vehicle fatal crash involving a pedestrian on Highway 42 near milepost 76 in Douglas County.   The preliminary investigation indicated that a red Ford Focus, operated by Leo Thomas Durden III (38) of Roseburg, was traveling westbound with a green light on Highway 42 when it struck a pedestrian, Vivian Kuntz (40) of Eugene, who was crossing from Grant Smith Road toward Highway 99 without a walk signal.   The pedestrian (Kuntz) was pronounced deceased at the scene.   The operator of the Ford (Leo Durden) and passenger, Caitlinn Ann Durden (35) of Roseburg, were not injured.   The highway was impacted for four hours during the on-scene investigation. OSP was assisted by Central Douglas Fire and Rescue, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, the Winston Police Department, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.

Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash

Prineville Police Department     On April 24, 2026, at approximately 10:59 p.m., the Prineville Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a bicyclist in the area of NE Combs Flat Road. Upon arrival, officers located the bicyclist suffering from critical injuries; the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the involved vehicle was identified by responding officers. The driver was taken into custody upon conclusion of the investigation. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. The Oregon State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit arrived on scene and conducted an investigation. The Oregon State Police have assumed primary responsibility for the case. Fatal Crash Highway 99E – Lane County

Oregon State Police   LANE COUNTY, Ore. (23 April 2026)  – On Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 2:30 a.m., Oregon State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 99E near milepost 32 in Lane County.   OSP and the Junction City Police Department initially responded to a report of a damaged power pole. Responding officers then located a heavily damaged black BMW 135 in a ditch, and the operator, Tyler Raymond Caseri (24) of Harrisburg, was found seriously injured. The operator (Caseri) was transported to a local hospital. OSP was notified by the hospital on April 20, 2026, that Caseri had died from his injuries.   The highway was not impacted during the on-scene investigation.   Speed and impairment are believed to be contributing factors to the crash. Man Sentenced for Child Sexual Abuse Involving Multiple Victims in Marion County

Eric Tyreak Gordon Marion County Circuit Court Case 25CR22843, 25CR63097 & 25CR05205   Salem, OR – April 22, 2026  –  Today Marion County Circuit Court Judge Jennifer Gardiner sentenced Eric Tyreak Gordon (age 25) to 264 months (22 years) in the Oregon Department of Corrections. He will be required to register as a sex offender. Gordon pled guilty to the following charges: Using a Child in Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree (2 counts) Sodomy in the Third Degree (3 counts) Unlawful Delivery of a Marijuana item (2 counts) Failure to Report as a Sex Offender Rape in the Third Degree Gordon was arrested and charged in April 2025. The convictions stem from three separate Marion County cases involving victims between the ages of 14 and 15, including two cases of child sexual abuse involving three minor victims. EUGENE MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO SEX TRAFFICKING A MINOR

U.S. Attorney's Office - District of Oregon EUGENE, Ore.— Anthony D’Montrez Crawford, 30, of Eugene, Oregon, pleaded guilty today to sex trafficking a minor.   According to court documents, Crawford began trafficking a 17-year old minor victim from July 2024 to August 2024 in Eugene and Springfield, Oregon. Crawford and his wife posted online commercial sex advertisements for the minor victim and coordinated sex acts through phone and text messages. Crawford also transported the minor victim to Seattle on two occasions to engage in prostitution.   On March 5, 2026, Crawford was charged by information with sex trafficking of a child.   Crawford faces a maximum sentence of life in prison, a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and five years of supervised release. Woodburn Police seeking public's help to identify hit-and-run suspect and vehicle

Woodburn Police Woodburn, OR — The Woodburn Police Department (WPD) is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect and vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash that injured a juvenile bicyclist. On Thursday, March 30, 2026, at approximately 1:22 p.m., Woodburn officers responded to a reported hit-and-run at McDonald’s, located at 1540 Mt. Hood Avenue in Woodburn. The incident is believed to have occurred earlier, around 12:40 p.m. According to the investigation, a vehicle described as a black pickup truck with a silver grille—possibly a GMC or Chevrolet—struck a juvenile bicyclist who was crossing the roadway at the driveway of the location. The bicyclist sustained moderate injuries and was treated at a local medical facility. The driver is described as an older Caucasian or Hispanic male with a gray beard. West Salem man sentenced to two years in prison in firearm incident

Polk Co. Dist. Att. Office   DALLAS (OR) – Nikodemus Demetri Amrine, of West Salem, has been sentenced to serve 25 months (2 years, 1 month) in prison for a 2025 incident in which he intentionally discharged a firearm inside his residence. At the time, Amrine’s wife and infant child were also present within the home.   Amrine, 22, appeared before Polk County Circuit Judge Rafael A. Caso and pled guilty to Felon in Possession of a Weapon. Judge Caso also ordered Amrine to serve a 24-month term of Post-Prison Supervision upon his release and to forfeit the firearm. The case was investigated by the Salem Police Department and prosecuted by Polk County Deputy District Attorney Garrett Lewellen.

Shots Fired During Apparent Break-In Attempt

Medford Police Dept. On Tuesday, April 21, at approximately 4:55 a.m., officers with the Medford Police Department responded to a report of a person in mental distress in the 600 block of South Oakdale Avenue. A caller reported that a neighbor in an adjacent apartment was screaming and behaving erratically.   While officers were en route, additional information indicated that the individual was attempting to break into a neighboring apartment using an axe. The occupant of that apartment discharged a firearm, striking the suspect.   Upon arrival, officers located the suspect, identified as 22-year-old Julian Moon Haight, suffering from a gunshot wound to an extremity. Officers provided emergency medical aid until he was transported to a local hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.   No other individuals were injured during the incident.   This case remains under investigation. OREGON STATE POLICE ASKING FOR TIPS AFTER ELK KILLED IN CANNON BEACH

Oregon State Police Clatsop County, Ore. (20 April 2026)  - The Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife Division is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual suspected of killing an elk in Cannon Beach.   In the early morning hours of Monday, April 20, 2026, a deceased cow elk was located on the edge of the roadway near the intersection of South Spruce Street and East Adams.  A witness reported seeing a vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed before the elk was discovered.    OSP is asking residents of the area around where the elk was killed to review any security camera or doorbell camera footage for any suspicious activity between the hours of 4:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m.    Anyone with information may email a tip to  TIP@osp.oregon.gov ​  or contact OSP Dispatch at 800-442-0776 or by calling *OSP (*677) from a mobile phone. STANDOFF WITH ARMED SUBJECT IN ALBANY ENDS PEACEFULLY

Albany Police At approximately 9:36 am the Albany Police Department responded to a wanted subject identified as Alan William Dude, 43 years of age, of Albany in front of the Linn County Courthouse.  Dude was parked in a vehicle in the 300 block of SW 4TH Avenue, Albany, Oregon after failing to show up for a Linn County Circuit Court trial that was scheduled to begin today.  Upon contact with Dude, responding officers saw what appeared to be a firearm in his hand.  Officers immediately established a secure perimeter and initiated safety protocols to protect the public.  Surrounding streets were closed and the Linn County Courthouse, Albany City Hall and surrounding businesses were restricted and locked down while the Linn Benton Regional SWAT Team responded to the scene.    Crisis negotiators engaged in conversation with Dude in an effort to bring the incident to a peaceful resolution.  After an extended unsuccessful negotiation, Dude began to reac...
